On 30 November 2016, Yeastar, a manufacturer of VoIP PBX systems, announced the release of Linkus, a mobile softphone for S‑Series PBX systems.
Linkus turns Android and Apple mobile phones into office extensions, giving small and medium-sized businesses with up to 500 users continuous connectivity over 2G/3G/4G mobile networks or Wi‑Fi.
Key features include: • Make and receive VoIP calls through the company PBX, reducing mobile voice plan costs. • Remote access to a virtual “deskphone”, integration with the company directory, call transfer and availability. • One calling number available on all devices, ensuring customers reach the same number regardless of the device. • Privacy protection and security through the use of a single number and SRTP encryption.
Linkus requires iOS 8.0+ or Android 4.4+ and supports the SIP FRC3261, TCP/IP/UDP, RTP/SRTP/RTCP, HTTP/HTTPS protocols. CallKit integration gives iOS 10 a standard calling interface and improved quality.
Alan Shen, CEO of Yeastar, said: “We are delighted to add a new mobility feature for businesses deploying our S‑Series PBX. The Linkus mobile client easily connects remote offices, traveling workers and mobile employees under a single phone system, using just one number for deskphones and Apple or Android phones.”
The Yeastar team supports businesses and integrators in assessing their needs, selecting an architecture, and preparing for deployment.
