P‑Series Firmware Updates December 2024

Yeastar has just released the latest version of the P‑Series firmware, offering advanced features for privacy, network management, and NEC phone migration. This update enables businesses to retain their existing equipment while benefiting from simplified administration and improved communications security.

Call Masking for Better Privacy

Call masking partially obscures the caller ID to protect the privacy of agents and customers. Available for inbound and outbound calls, this feature helps meet compliance requirements and prevent data misuse. It is configured through the system preferences in the administration portal.

NEC Phone Auto-Provisioning

The firmware now supports auto-provisioning for NEC models, a first in the industry. Businesses can migrate to Yeastar without replacing their existing phones, reducing transition costs. Supported models include DT8XX, DT9XX, DT820, ITY‑6D‑1P, ITY‑8LDX‑1P, ITY‑8LCGX‑1P, ITY‑6DG‑1P, ITY‑32LDG‑1P, ITY‑32LCG‑1P, ITY‑32TCG‑1P, ITK‑6DGS‑1P, ITK‑32LCGS‑1P, and ITK‑32TCGS‑1P.

Upcoming Support for Mitel SIP‑DECT

Yeastar plans to add auto-provisioning support for Mitel SIP‑DECT base stations (RFP 44, 45, 47, 48) soon, further expanding migration options.

SNMP Trap Alerts for Remote Management

SNMP traps automatically send notifications to an SNMP manager when a critical event occurs, such as the loss of a trunk or an IP phone. This enhancement simplifies monitoring and rapid incident resolution.

Multiple WAN Interfaces on the Software Edition

You can now configure multiple WAN interfaces, allowing your PBX to connect to multiple Internet service providers or dedicated services simultaneously. This feature improves network redundancy and flexibility.

Additional optimizations

The update introduces two new SMS service providers, optimizes Linkus client permission settings, sorts extensions and contacts by name, improves agent state-change logic, and adjusts the boss-secretary feature to display the supervisor's extension name in incoming call pop-ups.

Recent update history

Since January 2024, updates have added message queues, priority queues, skills-based routing, advanced IVR, Microsoft Teams integration, live chat, Facebook integration, and much more.
