In July 2025, Yeastar integrated artificial intelligence capabilities into the P‑PBX series, offering voicemail transcription, call transcription and summaries, text-to-speech, and audio streaming via WebSocket. Amid widespread enthusiasm, we wanted to find out whether these innovations deliver real benefits or are just hype. We therefore conducted a “blind” test with six colleagues in different roles to measure the impact of these features in everyday work scenarios.
First impressions: caution and pragmatism
Before the test, participants shared their expectations: routing automation, audio-to-text conversion, accuracy, and ease of use. Some were skeptical about reliability and concerned that it might add complexity. This feedback served as a baseline for assessing the actual experience.
Test: three everyday use cases
We designed three typical office situations to evaluate the AI features: voicemail transcription, call transcription and summaries, and multilingual text-to-speech. Participants tested each scenario to assess accuracy, speed, and usefulness.
Voicemail transcription
Users found transcription fast, with accuracy above 95 % even for slightly unclear recordings. The ability to edit the text directly made it easier to organize messages. However, they suggested removing filler words, highlighting key points, or generating an automatic summary.
Call transcription and summaries
This feature was praised as a major productivity boost: participants no longer need to take notes during calls because the transcript and summary are generated in real time. Speaker-based transcription makes it easy to find key information. Feedback indicated a need for CRM integration and support for meetings with multiple participants.
Text-to-Speech
Text-to-speech made it possible to create multilingual announcements quickly, with realistic voices and the option to choose the target language. Users appreciated the consistency and quality of the voices, although some preferred more natural-sounding options for customer interactions.
